I’m Nicole, a teacher and writer from Maryland.
I write about a variety of things in a variety of forms, including personal essays and science news stories. My work has appeared in Roads & Kingdoms, Eos, and Modern Farmer. (I also have some recipes that you can find here: thelittlestoneblog.com.)
Previously, I worked as a content writer for GitHub and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. I also taught high school English for four years in Washington, D.C., and you can access some of my teaching material from the Educational Resources page.
A lifelong learner, I honed my writing craft as a student in the MA in Writing program at Johns Hopkins University, where I received the David Everett Award for Outstanding Thesis, Nonfiction. Most recently, I completed the Lede Program for Data Journalism.
